just like i failed to realize the benefits of oils/moisturizers the first couple times i tried shaving

I have never used anything when shaving. I've always just taken it like a man. Been shaving 3 years now, I believe.

i have a distaste for an abundance of body hair in general, including pubes, and on guys in particular i personally think that no pubes at all is best

on girls, a modest landing strip or something that effect is nice, but nothing more

I agree with this as well. I think no hair down there is gross, but too much hair is even worse. Just a little bit of hair is perfect.
