Trust me, most Americans don't know where every state is off the top of their head, because it's easy to mix up some of the locations of the really small northeastern states if you hardly ever look at a map or you've never lived/been to the northeast.

I'm fairly confident I could get them all in their right locations, but I doubt I'm in a majority in that regard.

And that goes for the other way around too.

I can surely get all the northeastern states down to around Pennsylvania/ Delaware, but I start to get confused anywhere southern of there. I know the general location of every state, but it's easy to get confused for some of them... for instance, I always tend to mix up some of the states like Tennessee, the Carolinas, Kentucky, etc.

Then a little bit more western, I get mixed up over the Dakotas, Wyoming, Nevada, etc.

If I had a blank sheet of the states I could probably fill in the names just by process of elimination and rearranging until everything looked correct. If I didn't get them all correct, I'd probably only have 2-4 wrong. But still.

How do you mix up the Dakotas? They're right next to Minnesota and they complete the hockey belt.

Because I made up the hockey belt, but from New England across the top of the country to North Dakota is where the best college hockey teams are.

How can you forget where Minnesota is? This is horrible Sam, downright horrible.

Veal
