That is a sentence from a paper I am writing. Did I use the semi colon right?

A semicolon is used to string two sentences together no? Or is that a colon.  befuddlement

also since no one pointed it out yet, when i said "'Whom.' Objective case." that's actually just a reference to the twilight zone and not the right answer befuddlement
