mgs1 how do i defeat [spoiler]metal gear
i keep using the nikitas or w/e to blow up that shield thing, but then i always die during the second half of the battle when liquid opens the cockpit [/spoiler]

well hopefully you're using the stinger missiles and not the nikitas 

don't get hit, that's all the strategy i can give

Staying away from his missiles is the hardest part. :'(

When the fight first starts, go to the southeast corner of the map and get the ration there. Hide behind the barrels and wait for him to get close.

Now, wait for him to turn around or just go right in, whatever. Get really close to him, but try not to get too close (or he'll use a laser). Basically, when he fires the missiles, just run around him. The rockets won't be able to curve enough before they hit the ground and likely be way behind you. While he's turning, that's when you can hit him with the stinger.

Now repeat until dead.
