I just beat Super Mario RPG again tonight. I'm thinking it was the 15th time beating it, or at least something close to that. I thought I was going to get everything in the game on this file, but it turns out I forgot to get the first hidden chest (there's only one chance to get it), and I suck at Super Jump, so I can't get the Attack Scarf or Super Suit.

Other than that, I got everything. Even the Sheep Attack and Star Egg.

It's really not all that long. 20 hours maybe. Probably more like 15.

Of course, you can tack on a few hours worth of extra stuff to do.
