what i think we should do with ebichu is watch a little bit of ebichu after evangelion. it'd be an interesting parallel seeing as how they're both done by anno hideaki despite being as different as possible.

First of all, remember that tonight is the finale stream for both Eva and Ebichu. Convenient that both are over in one night, huh?
End of Evangelion is approximately 90 minutes - an hour and a half. Meaning that tonight's stream will be about a half hour longer than usual. Shouldn't really be problematic for anyone.
If anyone has any last questions that are confusing them about Eva, please go right ahead and ask. I'll answer if I can.
Now...the NEXT order of business is to start trying to choose what to watch next. We should've done this earlier, but oh well.

My two cents on your list, Hiro:
First of all, we already watched Paranoia Agent, so that's a no-go either way.
Cromartie and Golden Boy are both pretty damn hilarious, the former being much better though...Golden Boy, while funny, has part of its humor due to its rather silly dub, and it's of course much more crude humor and it's overall rather dated.
NHK is supposed to be a great comedy too but I haven't seen it - it's on my MAL "Plan to Watch" though.
BECK is something I actually own on DVD but I know at least Nyerp has expressed disinterest in it so I dunno if we'd get to it any time soon. I like it a lot though. It's a nice little story about a rock band, no anime tomfoolery of any kind really.
Boogiepop is cool from the little bit I saw - I need to finish it.
Ghost in the Shell...you mean the movies, or the series? The original movie is the best thing in the whole franchise. The series is unfortunately not anywhere near as good, but it's still pretty great. Second season is unfortunately worse than the first, but not by much.
Elfen Lied is overrated, but it's still pretty great. I personally find the art style rather unfitting with how dark and adult it is...in fact, I might say that the art style is overly generic anyway. But oh well. It's still a fine piece of animation.
Champloo is great, and I'm sure we'll watch it eventually. I'm kinda waiting on the new DVD boxset to get released soon. Gonna snatch that shit up. It's not nearly as good as Bebop though, despite plenty of similarities and the same director.
And Lupin III...again, movies, or series? If nothing else, we should watch the Ghibli movie at some point. Series is good too, but I'm not really that interested in streaming it.
The others I just mentioned though, I would totally stream. As for the others on your list, I don't know anything about them, so I can't really say.

I won't say too much about it so I don't spoil things, but the changes made in the first Eva Rebuild were, for the most part, all for the better. Definitely better-looking, that's for sure...but I guess I should be commenting on the voices in the dub, huh?
Shinji = same voice actor, but he sounds a little bit more natural. There's not much to say here, really. A small improvement on a voice that was already good enough anyway. His screams are less weird, for one thing, and since he bitches less anyway, you won't hear him sounding that way as much.
Misato = same voice actress, but again, improved.
Gendo = different voice actor (at least, it sounds like one to me), but not any worse or any better. No real comments here.
Ritsuko = totally different voice actress, or at least she's using a different voice, because she's a massive improvement if you ask me.
Three NERV correspondents = better. Much much better. I seem to recall you guys hating Maya's voice. You know, the black haired lesbo (lol). You'll be happy to hear her sounding much more natural.
Rei = neither better nor worse. She no longer sounds robotic and emotionless, and much more like an actual teenage girl while still being slightly emotionless...but at the same time, I kind of miss that soft whisper of a voice she has in the series, and her voice fit what she is...but I dunno, I can't make up my mind which I'd actually rather have at the end of the day.
Kensuke and Toji = radically different. Kensuke had a ridiculous voice in the series, and he has a ridiculous one again, although completely different. In fact, remember Kaworu's voice? That voice actor is now doing Kensuke, so yeah, that oddly young-sounding, almost nasally sort of voice...but it doesn't fit Kensuke as well as it fit Kaworu, I think. Toji is...fine, I guess. I dunno. His voice is unremarkable. I think it's just maybe a little bit worse. Oh well, I guess.
Overall, the dub quality is an improvement. We will definitely be watching the dub. I have no doubts that 2.22's will be just as good. I'm not sure if I'm going to stay up and watch that too right now or not.

Misato = same voice actress, but again, improved.
Gendo = different voice actor (at least, it sounds like one to me), but not any worse or any better. No real comments here.
Ritsuko = totally different voice actress, or at least she's using a different voice, because she's a massive improvement if you ask me.
Three NERV correspondents = better. Much much better. I seem to recall you guys hating Maya's voice. You know, the black haired lesbo (lol). You'll be happy to hear her sounding much more natural.
Rei = neither better nor worse. She no longer sounds robotic and emotionless, and much more like an actual teenage girl while still being slightly emotionless...but at the same time, I kind of miss that soft whisper of a voice she has in the series, and her voice fit what she is...but I dunno, I can't make up my mind which I'd actually rather have at the end of the day.
Kensuke and Toji = radically different. Kensuke had a ridiculous voice in the series, and he has a ridiculous one again, although completely different. In fact, remember Kaworu's voice? That voice actor is now doing Kensuke, so yeah, that oddly young-sounding, almost nasally sort of voice...but it doesn't fit Kensuke as well as it fit Kaworu, I think. Toji is...fine, I guess. I dunno. His voice is unremarkable. I think it's just maybe a little bit worse. Oh well, I guess.

edit: It's really a problem that like nobody makes it to appointed anime streaming times. Nyerp is the only one who made it to the ones I streamed this or last week. Ika did join today, but doesn't respond as if he's away or ignoring it. Is Tuesday a bad time for everybody? Should we reschedule future streams to some other day?
the tuesday/thursday thing is simply a tradition left over from when tuesday and thursday were my easiest days with no evening classes, so i could always stream on time with no particular homework worries or anything

At the part where she finds him picking out clothes, it's shown that she realized Li's resemblance to BK-201. It's sometime after that, probably in the final arc, that she starts believing beyond suspicion that they're the same person. Maybe it was when she saw him talking to Amber on the blurry screen.
They don't explicitly say, but it's somewhat hinted that she only just figured it out at the end.

Zero no Tsukaima is about a fantasy-ish school of magic (a bit too similar to a certain western book and movie series) with moe and ecchi and a tsundere main character. Not exactly one I'd recommend personally, but Boyah's comments can make weird anime worth watching giggle;
I didn't personally like Maria Holic, but I thought it had moderately good reviews. meh.

I guess I'll agree with Kaz's comment about Rozen Maiden. It does have somewhat low amounts of comedy. And with Nyerp's comment about Zetsubou Sensei: the ridiculous amount of signs and pausing necessary don't exactly work well with streaming.
Out of the remaining seven I listed, I'd suggest going for Squid Girl.
i'm okay with that, i wanted to try it out eventually anyway

The voices sounded better, the sound effects were better, it just sounded better overall.

which brings me to my question: do you guys wanna watch both cat soup and kakurenbo, or just one of them, thus making animu stream shorter than usual?
cat soup is more of a surrealistic art piece with some crazy, trippy, imaginative scenes and kitties and it's pretty goddamn weird but also great. no real "story" except that cat 1 wants to get cat 2's soul back from death.
kakurenbo is a cel-shaded animu about kids playing hide and seek in an abandoned city and it's p. creepy and also p. weird and trippy but to be honest i haven't seen it in AGES so i don't remember a whole lot about it
both are roughly a half hour long

Its English title might be either "The Idiot, the Tests, and the Summoned Beings" or "Baka and Test: Summon the Beast" UNLEASH THE BEAST
It's pretty much the only worthwhile thing left on my list that fits the description. FMP Fumoffu would too, but it's excluded due to being a sequel to a series we haven't watched (yet).
Or we could abandon having the secondary anime be a comedy, stream both of the top two tiebreaker winners, and switch from 3/1 to two episodes of each series per stream. Aside from Gurren Lagann, if that's one of the two winners, the other three candidates are about the same length so it'd match up well.

The first two series are each 13 episodes and go together relatively well, though I only thought of the first series as its own nomination and it doesn't have an unresolved plot on its own. The third series (26eps) is completely different from the first two.
The two movies are adaptions of the first and second season. I think the first movie was a really well-done adaption and I actually liked it more than the first series. The second movie isn't even showing in Japanese theaters until sometime next year.
Unlike Eden, where you're not even watching the whole story if you ignore the movies (akudood;), with Nanoha you can watch either the first series or the first movie by itself without having an unresolved plot.

okay, that's true. i guess i was more or less thinking of specific scenes that sort of work better where they're placed for broadcast order.
for example, when haruhi is formally "introduced" as she turns around in a close-up at the end of episode 0
the most striking example, though, is that i find melancholy episode 6 to be the perfect ending because it's where kyon and haruhi's relationship sort of "peaks"
btw, it's obvious that the creators intended for some confusion to be present, given the nature of haruhi's unpredictable abilities and the strange subject matter the show is made up of, so it makes sense for the order to be scattered and for kyon to reference things that only become clear to the viewer later on

I'd say the third episode isn't much better than the first two in terms of what you're expecting, but in the fourth episode, there's both a lot more action (three foes rather than one) and also one of the main characters is developed and becomes significantly more interesting

and I don't know of any other hour-long anime, though I have seen a couple shows where only the first episode is double-length like Fate/Zero and Kamisama no Memochou.

These extra streams can be on Sunday, Friday, Thursday, or Tuesday, I guess. Considering that next Sunday is Christmas, I guess Friday would be the best choice, unless that's an issue for any of you.
So, Echo, Kaz, Nyerp, and maybe Tec, post your choice between these three options and comment on which days you can watch it. Unless it's an issue with one of you, I think the first option I just listed for this and next Friday would be best.
I rather like the idea of having extra episodes streamed on nights that are not usually for anime stream. It seems a shame to spend all of Christmas break watching something in stream that half the viewers don't want to watch.

okay well since nobody has an ideas and everyone apparently avoids this thread (madood; ), i suggest Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou as our secondary. it's 12 episodes and it's a comedy with some SOL elements that is, according to the title, about the "daily lives of high school boys."
it's currently airing and has been awfully popular, its humor is apparently pretty crazy, people keep comparing it to Gintama, and to a smaller degree, to the similarly-named Nichijou (though I doubt it's nearly as over-the-top)

well i mean it's only 4 ovas, at 32 minutes each
if anything we could use it as a temporary secondary...although if we watch a short show as primary (12 eps), then it would work out perfectly

i'm not really against just watching 4 eps of one show but we've yet to ever do it that way
besides, i like the idea of winding down after three eps of one show with one ep of a more light-hearted one, it just fits

well i don't think either spice and wolf OR texhnolyze would be very good for streaming, lol. the former is a slow, laid-back show that's mostly dialogue and the relationship between the two main characters, and the latter is an even slower, brooding (supposedly great, though) show of which i've only seen like 5 eps...but i remember it being extremely slow-moving.

I wanted to take a break from streaming and kaz leaving for a few weeks is a decent chance/excuse for it
After we finish Haibane Renmei on Monday, I think I'll stream a movie on Wednesday then stop streaming for a few weeks after that.
Some movies I'd suggest include:
Lupin III: The Castle of Cagliostro (I believe this is the most popular Lupin movie?)
Eve no Jikan (about robots trying to casually fit it alongside humans)
Roujin Z (about super machines designed to assist the elderly which go berzerk)
Metropolis (about a city with robots everywhere and government corruption)
One of various Ghibli films I haven't yet seen myself, such as Ponyo, Nausicaa, Howl's Moving Castle, Castle in the Sky, etc.
I haven't exactly seen many movies, so feel free to mention any other one you might want to see. Of the ones I listed, I'll probably lean toward the Ghibli movies, though I don't know which one to pick.

Why not? Haven't we done this before by streaming two episodes of each series per day? It would sorta limit our selection too much to insist on always having a 13-episode series.

stream always lasts longer than two hours anyway because of starting 30+ minutes late not to mention there's always issues of some sort...so it shouldn't really be that big of a deal to stream something that's two hours long. i assume we'll just not show the secondary on those two days...unless people want blu to do so at that time.

that's what lucky star is. it's just random, every day situations.
lucky star, to use an old phrase, is "seinfeld the anime," with cuteness added in
it's mostly conversations and jokes about every day things, with some of it having to do with otaku culture but a lot of it just being normal stuff
there's always a punch line, but its humor is usually subdued except for the few instances per episode where it suddenly makes a silly anime reference or something
it's a slice of life comedy
i like it a lot though
but uh it would not be suitable for stream
