I can't hope to remember and rate everything I have read. What sticks with me is important, and I try to recall where it is from, but it largely does not matter, as I have used it to form a thought, which is the ultimate influence an author or work could hope for. I will say to read more Chesterton, specifically Heretics if you have a chance. It is very relevant and interesting.

these are among mine.

The Writing of the God by Borges is one of the coolest pieces of writing I've read (short story) . . . i would say The Aleph & Other Stories collection is Unsurpassable

henry miller and thomas pynchon used to be my favorite authors but I don't think I'd say that anymore...

pale fire - nabokov all time favorite novels

i really like Less Than Zero (bret easton ellis) as a book although it's  more of a *youth statement*

original requiem for a dream by Hubert Selby Jr is one of the coolest writing styles I've encountered and Burr by Gore Vidal probably deserves mention too.

lovecraft and clive barker were the only others who were Foundational to me but I don't know which of their stories I'd choose as favorites  saddood;

I'd read all of those books again
