Well read this: http://gameological.com/2013/02/review-proteus/
and also the main quote on their website:
Quote“An experience not unlike that bit in a movie where a child wanders into some weird wonderland and ends up gazing about in slack-jawed delight.” " Rock Paper Shotgun

what's wrong for paying for something that is enjoyable
besides it's $7

Patrick Stickles

when you watch a movie and a child enters some wonderland the "wonder" of it usually becomes normal after like 5 minutes tops

that's not even a dollar per minute of wonder
What the fuck was it for anyway?

Hiro

well that's you watching the kid experience it, not you experiencing it
plus the reviews are all pretty good so obviously some people find it enjoyable for longer than 5 minutes
then again this game is like 13 minutes long and has quite a bit of acclaim: http://blendogames.com/thirtyflightsofloving/

exactly
anyways i tried to play it and it ran awfully but i just updated my drivers and i'm going to try running it with less background applications

Hiro

Got it running fine, it's pretty good. They did a good job of pacing by introducing you to new things every so often. It's really atmospheric, mostly due to the audio which is definitely the best part of the game. It sounds absolutely fantastic. And that quote I posted is fairly accurate
