Find less shitty places then. There's gotta be at least a few independent record stores in NYC. The best record stores are the ones where the employees know you by name.

It's a 45 minute drive for me to go anywhere worth going.

Nobody drives to Manhattan unless they have plenty of money. Parking is expensive. There's also too much traffic.

It doesn't take that long to get into Manhattan, but its annoying to have to go into the city just to buy a couple of CD's.
