I bought mine in August of '08, and I haven't had a problem yet. This is why I'm generally against buying systems at launch - I prefer to let others do the beta testing on the thing before the non-shitty version is released.

Although, PS3 does have a lot of good games, too. I wish I had one so I could play Uncharted 1 and 2.
