I saw Jonsi on the 5th, and it really really hit me, I'm writing more about it later because I'm trying to process and arrange it all. But afterward, we went to an afterparty and hung around eating nachos. Jonsi came by with his bandmates, and my girlfriend went up and talked with him, gave him a small gift including a letter, and talked to Alex a bit. I went and had a really awkward hello with Jonsi (who introduced himself, for some reason) and an even more awkward conversation with the batshit wonderful drummer.

Apparently he read the letter...he played here again on the 6th, and he dedicated the last song to "his friends Alyssa and Leah Eva."

Well I was GOING to see BTBAM, Mastodon, and Baroness tonight but I really don't want to drive 2 and a half hours by myself and none of my friends are goin. So yeah I don't think I'm goin :(

I am thinking of going see Of Montreal in two weeks.  :3 They look like they put on a fun show and would be pretty enjoyable to go see.

Just checked a local venue's calendar. These jumped out at me:

July 9 - Minus The Bear
July 23 - Interpol
July 27 - Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes
September 13 - Cake

There are also a few big-name metal bands showing up there that I'm not too interested in (Shadows Fall, Thrice). Also Ted Nugent, George Clinton, and Ed Kowalcyzk. I love Live but I don't think Kowalcyzk will be as good solo so I'll pass.

July will be fun, though.
