Theres a little site making the rounds called the Sony Protection Group. The name pretty much says everything you would ever need to know about the site, basically it’s a group of PS3 fanboys that feel they need to cling to their blankies and fight the good fight protecting their said precious Sony PS3. Now I have no problem with anyone loving their console, hell I loved my PS2, am over the moon for my 360 and use my PSP daily. But there comes a time when fanboyism of any kind can go too far, and the SPG takes that and runs with it. In the past two to three days they started rumors that.

-“Bioshock was coming to the PS3” and “Gears of War and it’s sequel were coming to the PS3 as well, and that Epic hated MS.”

2K was quick to slam down that rumor and make PS3 owners sport a frowny face. But Epic being the balls to walls guys that they are didn’t just simply state that there was no way that Gears was coming to the PS3, they were genuinely pissed off.

On their very own forums Mark Rein decided to leave a little post making sure how he felt about it.

This story is complete bull****. I emailed the site and asked them to take it down. We’re very happy with our relationship with Microsoft. If it weren’t for them Gears wouldn’t be the huge hit it has become.

Not happy with just posting this on the official Gears forum he happily sent along a nice and cheerful letter to said website that originated the story with this classy number.

“Please remove that complete bullshit story about Gears going to PS3. Cliff Bleszinski has NEVER been quoted as “threatening Microsoft to port over Gears to the PS3″. We’re very happy with our relationship with Microsoft and are extremely grateful of everything they’ve done to help make Gears the huge success it has become. Part of that success came from being an Xbox 360 exclusive FIRST PARTY title and Microsoft getting behind it in a huge way. They’re the publisher of Gears of War and, unless they say otherwise, there is no chance Gears is coming to PS3. For PS3 we have Unreal Tournament 3 and it’s going to be fantastic.”
