the grfx are supposed to be about identical but brighter (to compensate for the original gba's lack of backlighting), but yeah as is the case with all snes to gba ports, the sound quality is reduced

the snes's sound chip truly was a technical marvel in its time :'(

also some songs were completely changed

Kalahari Inkantation

the dkc3 port's soundtrack is entirely different

they don't even share the same composer, the snes version is eveline fischer's work while david wise returned for the gba port

I never realized how cheap sounding the GBA's sound chip was.

Glad I played ALttP's SNES version and not the GBA.  hocuspocus;

man that gba music would've actually sounded good if it were played on some good hardware

as soon as i saw that lawlz had made the most recent post i knew it'd be something comparing the genesis' sound hardware to other systems lol

Nyerp

are you implying that song you posted sounds anywhere near as good as the original

are you implying that [glow=black,2,300]the original is good[/glow]
really though dkc#'s music is okay. the music is strange in that is sounds technically impressive for the time since it's all fancy synths and whatever, but it ends up sounding like it was recorded from across the room
a lot of snes music that tries to be impressive has this problem. the ambient tracks in dkc are very nice but everything else just doesn't sound right lol
