if you haven't already, could you describe your familial situation (parents, siblings, etc. and your relationships with them)

My father's in Missouri right now and my life is better when he's not around.

I'm currently living with my mom and I don't talk to her much because we have nothing to talk about. She's a nice person and it makes me sad to say that, but that's just the way it is.

I have no contact with anybody else in my family.

I moved to a new town and this one "loser" kid befriended me. He was really nice.

Since this was 6th grade and every class needed that one loser that they could all agree to hate, this kid happened to be that one. People thought I was fairly cool as a new kid, but once they saw I was talking with this "loser", they all began to hate me too.

For a while I was becoming pretty cozy with the loser group and didn't give a shit that people were telling me to stop associating with him. I had a couple loser friends, but to me they were cool. I could actually have real conversations with  them about things I enjoyed and I didn't give a shit. They were great people.

Over time I started becoming good friends with this one kid who played football. I thought he was the coolest shit ever and we also had similar hobbies, so we bonded pretty well. Of course, being a sixth grader, he just had to hate people of a lower social status and he started nudging me to be more hateful towards that other kid. I did. I just randomly told the other people of the loser group that I'm not friends with that kid anymore and that they need to stop being friends with him if they want to be friends with me.  They obviously knew it was a dick move, but they went along with it and left him to eat alone for the rest of the semester. The most depressing part about this is that he obviously would've taken me back if I stopped being a dick because he was a nice kid.

The year after that the loser group pretty much told me to fuck off and got their little group back together without me. I was pissed, but it was my own fault.

and then for the next few years i'd try hard to fit in with the "cool kids" but i secretly couldn't put up with their inane bullshit and i hated myself for it akudood;

i've always felt like an asshole for doing this

if not too personal, does your depression come at "random" times?  or does an event have to take place, or thoughts that intense at certain times, because of certain factors?

I pretty much never get sad for no reason. Being at home alone for a long time can cause me to lose all motivation to do anything, and there have been other problems in the past couple days that have made things worse.

many people on boyah are legitimately depressed and my state isn't at all comparable to theirs

I know that I don't know your current situation, may not know the depths of it.  I'm fallacious as shit, illogical, and limited in knowledge.  I don't intend to offend with the content below.  Most of what I'm going to say is within my perpective, opinion, schema, etc..  Most things I "command," are just suggestions.  Below is also what I suggest to anybody facing some sort of depression.

I feel like you're going to lose yourself soon, Lawlz.  I don't clearly know why- it's just a feeling.  Your posts concern me at times- a few others', too.

I suggest that you try to push yourself to do things you've never done- anything.  Maybe even getting help from somebody in your college campus, somebody that can try to push you when you're feeling like "shit."  I feel sorry for people who don't take advantage of advisors, or teachers that are willing to talk, just any kind of support that's offered.  Try going to a store you've never gone to.  Walking to places- the longest walks.  Try to focus on how to "fix" problems instead of focusing on how they may affect your life.  Consider the things you cannot control and things you can- this will be the most important.  Realize things you truly don't want to participate in- and realize what you actually want to do- other than staying at home- unless it is what you actually want.

I assume it's difficult to push yourself when you're in these kind of states- so when you feel the most willing to do anything- take that opportunity, because it's a rare feeling.

An action I feel that's not truly taken to its fullest potential, is seeking out things.

Note consequences, too.

the thing that's currently bothering me is (hopefully) a temporary problem that'll be gone in a couple of days

Whenever I'm not sad, which is 98% of the year, I'm improving myself or working towards some sort of goal. Most of my biggest issues involve other people.
