I'm not saying that data is held over, I'm saying people's habits are. People just started saying "two thousand and ten" without thinking about it and kept doing it. That's why anyone does it.

sure i don't disagree with that lol, but that only lends to my argument that two thousand eighteen is already familiar for a number of reasons

i'll catch up with you guys and start saying 'twenty - [x]' in 2020, but right now i'm still way back in 2018
