Poll
Question:
Do you ever wear shoes or other outdoor footwear at home?
Option 1: Sometimes
votes: 1
Option 2: No
votes: 6
No, I do not, nor will I ever. ugly;
Only if I've recently come in and plan to go back out again
In the Czech Republic they told us it was considered rude to wear shoes inside someone's home so I've kind of just kept that going
czechia is correct, of course
actually i'm pretty sure the us is the only country in the world in which wearing shoes in living spaces is common and even expected
sometimes? it doesn't really make a difference to me

but the dirt and debris befuddlement
do you not have any carpeted areas
how dirty are your shoes goonish
i've always taken off shoes when coming inside
no because i am not a filthy animal
i have kawaii pompompurin house slippers that i love giggle;
usually, but sometimes i dont if im gonna leave again soon or my feet are cold. i have hardwood floors anyway lol

do you not have socks
do you not have slippers
parts of my house are hardwood and tile too

not really the point
shoes are naturally going to be much dirtier than a fresh pair of socks no matter what

yeah i have socks. no slippies, though tis a fair point, i've been meaning to get a pair. but then there's really no difference between wearing slippers and wearing shoes lol it's not like i'm trudging through mud all day and it's not like my floors are some magical disinfected surface
regardless the floor is the floor and i really couldn't care less how much bacteria is down there because it's the floor lol i eat on the table for a reason
Quote from: C.Mongler on June 22, 2017, 06:08:47 AMbut then there's really no difference between wearing slippers and wearing shoes lol
if you limit the use of that particular pair of slippers to indoors-only, then no matter what, it would naturally be cleaner than a pair of shoes worn outdoors
Quote from: C.Mongler on June 22, 2017, 06:08:47 AM
regardless the floor is the floor and i really couldn't care less how much bacteria is down there because it's the floor lol i eat on the table for a reason
but wouldn't it be nice to be able to eat that random french fry (or w/e it might be that you accidentally dropped) off the floor rather than be forced to throw it out
because i could eat it, safely, because nobody in my house ever wears shoes indoors hocuspocus;
i do eat those french fries as a matter of fact and as a matter of fact, i'm straight chillin' homie
bacteria is good for the gut
so your eating-on-the-table-rather-than-the-floor excuse is just that, an excuse akudood;
i mean i clean the table more regularly yeah but at the end of the day if eating a french fry off the floor is going to kill you, you have bigger shit to worry about than shoes in the house my friend lol
i'll buy you some pompompurin house slippers

it's truly horrifying, isn't it
i don't know how it became acceptable in america, and america alone, to do something as pointlessly dirty as wearing shoes indoors
Quote from: Joice on June 22, 2017, 06:38:19 AM

someone fund this idea
everyone on boyah apparently could use a nice pair of fuzzy japanese house slippers
Why would you ever
i like how all the respondees who indicated 'yes' are apparently too ashamed to vote 'yes' in the poll lol girl;
i'm just too lazy to vote for anything
and my answer isn't yes its "like maybe 1% of the time if i'm feeling lazy"
what are these binary options quit oppressing me
well there really are only two responses to this particular question lol
'sometimes' is equivalent to 'yes' here
'sometimes' is certainly not a 'no'
if i had offered 'sometimes' as an option in the poll, everyone who wears shoes indoors would have voted 'sometimes' and not 'yes' in order to feel better about themselves
it's like there's a difference between "sometimes" and "yes" or something, weird doodhuh;
like i've probably spent less than an hour or two collectively wearing my shoes in the thousands of hours i've spent in my domicile, but that's a flat "yes"? how does that make any sense lol
oops i forgot to grab my glasses from my desk as I was leaving and walked back over there with my shoes on, i guess i wear them literally all the time inside now
also i'd consider foot sweat equally as fuckin nasty as whatever you're picking up on your shoes outside, so if you aint bathing your feet at the door smash that mother fuckin' yes yall
Sometimes I think Tec will evolve to destroy humanity if the actions of the masses continue to defy logic and are instead based on feelings befuddlement

the thing is, literally everyone who wears shoes indoors regularly could vote 'sometimes' and be technically correct because they presumably don't wear them to bed or to shower, at the very least (one would hope)
it's a yes or no question: do you wear shoes at home
yes and no have objective definitions
"sometimes" is subjective

1. socks
2. bathing
3. I
actually have a door mat in front of my bedroom door. goowan
no filth gets dragged into this room by me, otherwise my nice white carpet would have browned long ago
Okay that doormat thing is a lil excessive there hombre

destroying humanity for such reasons would be illogical and emotional on my part
because humans are, on average, more useful than not, strange a species as they may be
suppressing reason-defying emotional thinking and behavior would, however, almost unquestionably lift mankind upward, and make humans
far, far more useful and efficient and productive than they already are
that's what i want

1. socks aren't a magical bacteria shield so that's irrlevant. they're porous to boot.
2. that's what i'm saying, do you bathe at the door?
3. ah, so you can spread the feet germs around a little more and pick up some germs from the last time you wiped there, gotcha

well sure, for proficiency and usefulness that's why we have machines
There are many logical reasons for the destruction of humanity especially if you value rationality above all else. The elimination of agents of chaos would certainly help. The only reasons not to include fear of incarceration and sentimentality for them. What's upward for humanity is entirely subjective anyway!

okay, how about this: far, far less filth gets dragged into my room than if i or any other family member were to wear shoes indoors
also the doormat can and does get regularly cleaned
also my bedroom is literally right next door to my bathroom lol giggle;
Too late Cmong you're going to have to have a patch designed like a shoe sewn into all your clothes

i think you're missing the point
the point is that even the most avid wearer of shoes indoors could still vote "sometimes" and be ~technically~ correct, as there are probably very few people who wear shoes 100% of the time

well i never once indicated that there is or possibly could be lol girl;
but certainly you'd agree that humanity could do better, and that there's no good reason (aside from inefficient use of emotion) that it
couldn't be doing better
of course perfection is beyond the realm of possibility
but a greater average is absolutely not necessarily unachievable

okay well duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
nobody wears clothes 100% of the time
nobody breathes air for 100% of the time either for that matter
this is a pointless matter of fact lol
to me "no" would mean "i absolutely prefer to never wear shoes indoors". yes means "i absolutely prefer to wear shoes indoors". if those are the only two options, then yeah, I guess I'm in the no camp. "sometimes' would open up the option to "i don't really care about it too much and i do whatever makes me feel comfortable for the moment". that's where i would stand had I the option, but since i don't i fall into the no camp
capiche?

Sure i could agree humanity could be doing better but which direction to move it in is the issue that would be disagreed upon.

you have made me realize that the poll would have been more effective had i euphemized the "yes" option as "sometimes", and then personally interpreted all "sometimes" votes as "yes" votes
so i'm going to modify the options to read "no" and "sometimes"
thank you, i am pleased we were able to compromise, i shall re-vote accordingly
