In the Czech Republic they told us it was considered rude to wear shoes inside someone's home so I've kind of just kept that going

czechia is correct, of course

actually i'm pretty sure the us is the only country in the world in which wearing shoes in living spaces is common and even expected

if i had offered 'sometimes' as an option in the poll, everyone who wears shoes indoors would have voted 'sometimes' and not 'yes' in order to feel better about themselves

like i've probably spent less than an hour or two collectively wearing my shoes in the thousands of hours i've spent in my domicile, but that's a flat "yes"? how does that make any sense lol

because humans are, on average, more useful than not, strange a species as they may be

suppressing reason-defying emotional thinking and behavior would, however, almost unquestionably lift mankind upward, and make humans far, far more useful and efficient and productive than they already are

There are many logical reasons for the destruction of humanity especially if you value rationality above all else. The elimination of agents of chaos would certainly help. The only reasons not to include fear of incarceration and sentimentality for them. What's upward for humanity is entirely subjective anyway!

the point is that even the most avid wearer of shoes indoors could still vote "sometimes" and be ~technically~ correct, as there are probably very few people who wear shoes 100% of the time

you have made me realize that the poll would have been more effective had i euphemized the "yes" option as "sometimes", and then personally interpreted all "sometimes" votes as "yes" votes
