This really makes me wonder what exactly Kojima did that pissed off the Konami executives this much rofl.  It's pretty much ruining a game most Konami fans, if such a thing still exists, to spite the man who created its only good game series.

I think they make more money from mobile games obv

jesus FUCKING christ i'm mad if this ends up being true

i was looking forward to this series finally coming back with a good game again

also @david's op: "buuuuut castlevania" isn't as valid an argument as it used to be anyway so you won't hear it from us lol

anyone who might have been hoping to play pt at some point but doesn't yet own a ps4 can still head to the psn store and purchase it before it's taken down, that way it'll be in your download list for whenever you do get one

well, unless sony completely removes it from its servers, that is

i just did this despite having no intention of ever playing it lol

and yeah, konami must be fully aware that they're nobody without kojima, i'll be surprised if they don't go out of business soon after his contract expires

what could he have done to anger them so much that they'd be willing to destroy themselves to spite him lol

to be fair, lords of shadow is a good game, but still, I sure as hell don't want it to be the future of the series.

I honestly think, the best we can hope for at this point, since Igarashi also left Konami, is for Mighty No. Castlevania

the only way any of konami's recent decisions make sense is if they've decided to voluntarily retire from console development

and actually now i'm convinced that that's the case

what exactly does konami's release schedule for 2015 and beyond currently look like

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Konami_games

holiday 2015: metal gear

and that's it

there's not even a pro evo 2016 on the horizon

with this cancellation of the only other title they had publicly announced for release in the near future, i think konami is signifying that it's finished with console games

they have announced that silent hill and metal gear aren't dead as a result of recent happenings, but now i believe that was just a way of minimizing panic

there is no future for metal gear or silent hill, except maybe on the iphone

why should a corporation have "respect" for games?  konami could make art and people would whinge about it not have x, y or z.  grow up gamers, there's nothing left for you here.  get a real hobby.

what would truly distress me is if konami decided to simply sit on their de facto retired gaming ip rather than sell them off to someone who could make decent (or not) use of them

but then again the only franchise they really have that's of any value anymore is metal gear, whose name they can still attach to pachinko machines and clothing lines until it's as worthless as the others

this pretty well coincides with previous reports and rumors so i'm sure it's largely true, and besides, the japanese corporate world in general is pretty harsh so none of that really surprises me.

yes because sonic "fans" are already prepared to defend anything sonic, they buy them all...
and multiple copies.... and give them 10's on metacritic... and swear they're still good....

There is something to be said about the feel of things with the older consoles. It’s blurry and not very sharp. messy textures.. but all that adds a certain.. feel. Which just draws me into the game illusion.
