Have you even seen Torchwood? the similarity is very small doodhuh; doodhuh;
i should be doing work, but i keep getting distracted
an outline, some worksheet, a drawing focusing on form, and should be studying for a math test
at least it doesn't sound too much to me, kind of.

the premise is pretty similar:
Primeval follows a team of scientists tasked with investigating the appearance of
temporal anomalies across Great Britain through
which prehistoric and futuristic creatures enter the present.
of course, the recent series of torchwood deviated from this fundamental plot idea
A GIANT SYMBIOTIC VAGINA DID IT

Torchwood is about a group of people protecting Britain from extra-terrestrial life and other threats to the planet... There is very little time travelling elements to Torchwood since the Doctor took Jack's time travelling wrist band from him. That's not very similar. This show is about anomalies where creatures can travel back and forth through time. Sure there are some futuristic creatures but they are all from earth.

The Rift is obviously a similar plot device as a 'temporal anomaly' from which all the alien creatures come into Cardiff. Of course, the show has abandoned it after Children of Earth and Miracle Day.

The rift in Cardiff is a bit different though. that's really where any similarity ends though
