you wouldn't. 2 is a DIRECT sequel to 1. the stories are intertwined. it makes no sense that they're releasing me2 on ps3 without me1 first.

With all the choices you have made in ME1 and ME2 this game is truly going to be an epic conclusion to the Trilogy.
Also I think Bioware is seriously preventing some great books from being written by keeping their team of writers on staff n_u

The "story sum-up" bonus content may not be as good as playing the first game, but it can't be that bad.

i don't know how anyone could manage to get garrus killed - he's one of the easiest not to screw up because he's a powerhouse...i had him be a squad leader both times.
I think it has more to do with your relationship with them than their hardiness. If he's not loyal he's more likely to die, although I don't know why you would want to skip any playable content in ME2
The only squad mate that died while i was playing was Jack.
Jack is just an awful character

his hardiness is why he's ideal as a squad leader, and why it's okay to not bring him with you for the final boss
but yes, loyalty matters more than anything else
my only non-loyal teammate was jack, but she still survived anyway

I actually like all of the female characters... my two least favorite squadmates are actually Jacob and Garrus but I give Garrus the benefit of the doubt since his character was probably more developed in the first one.

Mass Effect 3 will be awesome.
I'm working on doing at least 7 playthroughs on mass effect 2 (Because I'm restarting my first playthrough) and have finished 3 of 7.
I'm not really sure what counts as massive spoiler so I'm going to spoiler tag everything regarding my romances / deaths.
[spoiler]So far I've romanced (In order of romance) Liara (MALE, ME1). Kaiden (ME1)
GARRUS, (GARRUS MY BRO) TALI (Wooo) and Jack (I think I got raped) + MIRANDA (why did I do this)
And yes you can bone both Jack and Miranda. If you maintain loyalty with both and want to be a renegade, you can casual with Jack and then go after Miranda.
Vanguard has so far been my favorite class. He is just love. I love charging into crazy places and then raping everyone with my shotgun. Krogan Shotgun sucks though.
On my first nobody died, on my second I had 4 people die, on my third I think it was 7 (Jack, Kasumi, Zaeed, Jacob, Thane, Tali, Grunt). Garrus saved my life (he is such a bro.)
