Question:
How should it be pronounced?
Option 1: Twenty-ten, it only makes sense. In the 90s we didn't say 'one thousand, nine hundred and ninety'.
votes: 14
Option 2: Two thousand ten.
votes: 7
Option 3: Two thousand and ten.
votes: 3
I can't believe we're over halfway through this year and people are still using the latter two. akudood;
twenty-ten is preferred, though i still accidentally call it "two thousand ten" at times
I usually say two thousand ten :(
two thousand ten. you know why? because its not a fucking mouthful like one thousand ninehundred ninty nine so there's no reason to not be fucking correct. fuck.
Two thousand and ten to give myself a stroke. n_u
twunny-tin
I want to know who voted for two thousand and ten so I can kick them in their stupid cunt.
when it was 2009 did you assholes all say twenty nine or what?
I always say it as "two thousand ten". Unlike 1999, where it's 9 syllables to say the whole number properly up from 19-99's 5, this year only has 5 syllables even with correct pronunciation. Why do people feel the need to insert "and" in numbers?
Twenty-Ten sounds ridiculous, like some eyesight measurement (20/10)
how do the fags who picked the last two options pronounce 1910
Deux mille dix :0)
twennie-ten
ninteen ten, because its fucking easier than the correct way. Eight syllables versus three. Twenty ten saves you one fucking syllable. You're fucking lazy.

Because this is a stupid debate that's why. Both are perfectly acceptable; it has to do with saving syllables, not because it was a standard set in the nineteen hundreds that is mandatory to continue following.

i know, i was flustered wariodood;
People only call it two thousand ten because they are used to using that format for the past 9 years (10 including 2000).
Now that we can say twenty- _______ again, we should.
We just couldn't the past 10 years cause you can't say twenty-nine, twenty-five, etc.
