Title: Have You Ever Given Someone On The Street Money?
Post by: NOA_Haunted on April 09, 2009, 08:41:29 PM
I was trying to get to my car today after work and this guy came up to me and was like "you wouldn't happen to have any spare cigs on you?" and I responde "lol no" so he precedes with "Well do you have any spare money at all?" He had a  little rant about not having food and no money for his roommate, but it is to much to remember. I was scared so I gave him 3 dollars.

He didn't really look like a guy who had a roommate or a house, I think he was just making it up for some money. But have you ever given some random person money?

Several times, about $1.75 in change just Tuesday at the train station. I don't see it as a big deal.

One day after snowboarding, my two friends and I were eating at Taco Bell, and i had my wallet out on the table and you could obviously see that i had some money, and this scary looking kid came up and asked for some money, and both of my friends said that they had nothing, and I didn't want to be mean, since he could see that I had money, so I gave him a dollar. I was very angry at myself afterwards.

Buy the ice cream cone. You'll help a brother out far more by allowing him to solve his own problems rather than helping him stay down.

well adults do.
maybe if they finished high school and went onto college they would have a job and a house.
or maybe if they didn't do hardcore drugs then they wouldn't be in that situation.
it's different in a child's situation.

or maybe they are one of the thousands of veterans of the vietnam war who ended up homeless after they came back.

maybe if they had a college diploma then they could get a new job.
it's like all the factory jobs that are pretty much shutting down.
and you don't even need a high school diploma to get one.

maybe they should move to canada so they have free health care.

and why can't they just ask the government for money.
and why didn't they get a job when they came back?

i'm pretty sure they did. unfortunately fiscal conservatives don't have a problem with declaring war and sending people over, but once they need support "we ain't no commies'

Don't buy the ice cream cone, duh.

If somebody is going to get drunk, let them drink. You're not being the enabler - you're just trying to do the right thing. It's not helping him "stay down" what is down?

the only thing i remember learning about was uh the hitler stuff.
grade ten was the only year i took history in high school cause it was mandatory and half the time i was to high to even know what was going on.

okay, after world war II the u.s. was like 'we fucking hate communism' and decided to enter a cold war with russia where we built lots of atomic bombs and tried to do cool stuff before each other.  both also invaded other nations to spread  "democracy" or communism, though that's like comparing fruit loops and spoons.
(we ended up screwing up a lot of south america and now we are like LOL IMMIGRANTS though that is our fault).

we then invaded korea because dem damn commies and that domino effect were gonna spread communism everywhere. shit happened and then we now have north and south korea.

we then invaded vietnam and pretty much fucked shit up and lost millions of soldiers, destroyed their country, and then withdrew because we sucked.  akudood;

the cold war went on until like 1991 and shit.

I was driving around and I saw a homeless dude so I parked my car and walked over to him and gave him two bucks. Then we sat down on the ground and chatted for 10 minutes or so. He was pretty cook; had long hair and a beard and messed up teeth. A stereotypical homeless dude.

homeless people don't deserve my money.

akudood;

but anyways yeah that whole "it's their own damn fault they don't deserve my money oh hey this road that was built with other people's money is nice i like to drive on it vroom vroom cnotedood;" attitude doesn't really seem to be backed up by evidence rather it's just you go into the city and see a few people in raggedy clothes asking for money so they must all be like that but you don't see the hundreds and thousands of others living under bridges because they lost their home
it's also pretty easy to not bother trying to understand the situation when you're a self-centered teenage girl with everything provided for her akudood;

yes
it is very terrifying to some homeless though
like the time this black man with stolen jewelry came up to me and wanted me to buy his stolen goods for 20 dolla

he fucked ruined them by proving to me that they were real "
THESE ARE REAL SEE?" and then he decided to scrap it with a filer really hard and i was like ;_;

most homeless are the  psychiatric clients who were abandoned and war veterans <3
