That was Cameron.
I haven't taken Latin since 6th grade, and I only took it then because my school made everyone take it. All I remember is gladius es erectus.

O Jesu, Jesu pie.
Ave verum corpus-Hail the true body,
natum de Maria virgine-Born of the Virgin Mary,
vere passum-Truly suffered, sacrificed
immolatum in cruce prohomine-On the Cross for mankind,
Cujus latus perforatum-Whose pierced side
unda fluxit cum sanguine unda fluxit cum sanguine-Flowed with water and blood,
Esto nobis praegustatum-Let it be for us, in consideration,
mortis in examine-A foretaste of death.
Oh Jesu-O Jesu
Jesu dulcis-Oh Jesu sweet
O Jesu, Jesu pie-Oh Jesu, Jesu sweet
O Jesu fili Mariae, O Jesu fili Mariae- Oh jesu son of mary x2
Tu nobis miserere, miserere- Have mercy on us
Amen Amen Amen-Amen x3

Its Mozarts Ave Verum Corpus, but the song doesn't have that little ending. We sang it in choir last year.
Latin III FTW Nikkuh.
I messed up where some of the lines separate, but yeah. Its still the same shit.

Even if maria means husband, I think it can be used as the name too, right?
..like in Ave Maria?
The only latin I know is what I can remember off the top of my head from choir... which isn't much.

maria couldn't mean husband, "a" is the feminine ending
if it was husband [i don't know if the root is though] the word would be "marius"
maria would mean wife if the root means "spouse"

yeah
well
like i said, I don't know latin, but I do know quite a bit about choir music. And I know that like 90% of choir music is christian because way back when, the only people who could afford to pay composers to write them crap were people who were high in the community, usually religiously.
I don't see why you're all arguing over the meanings of maria and virgine when quite obviously, in this piece, it's referring to "Virgin Mary".

Just GUESSING completely, I'm going to say that I can see phrases like "the body of the virgin mary" and "oh jesus, sweet jesus, oh jesus something."
Det, I don't think you need to worry about singing something naughty, it's just another run-of-the-mill religious choir song.
