Since I'm about to buy some sort of portable mp3 player, and from the looks of it, Zunes look alot better than iPods and everything else that I come across. I just don't want to buy one and then find out that a new, superior version is coming out in a matter of weeks.
If Microsoft continues its refresh history with the Zune, it should be due for a refresh in November. Personally, I do agree that the current generation of iPods are rather ugly, save the iPod touch. Though I'd recommend getting a fifth generation iPod off of eBay, but that's just what I think.
Just my thoughts. I hate the new ipods. Their new look, and interface is horrible. If it turns out that i can't get a zune for some reason, I'm getting a 5th gen ipod.

I haven't heard anything about plans for a new zune, but it's probably very likely

Yes, if I recall, the Zune 4, 8 and 80 were only announced like a month before they came out. Though since most Microsoft products are leaked well before they're announced, I'm surprised we haven't heard anything about it. befuddlement

Your computer will automatically sync the music & podcasts you've subscribed to, and you can also just open the Zune app and choose what to sync manually.

Yeah. As for speed, it's about as fast as it should be for a wireless podcast sync.

I actually hate Halo, I have a plain black Zune. I don't like it because it's non-iPod, I like it because it's actually a better piece of hardware than the iPod. FYI, I actually want a Mac.

Anyway, I got an 80 for Video, not music, which works wonderfully~ But Music is always good too.
I haven't read anything (Or seen anything) about a new set of Zunes, but the most they can really do is add more space to the current ones, I doubt they'd change the controls around too much unless they're working on a touchscreen version.

So, if you wirelessly sync your zune to your pc, then you can put music and podcasts on your zune without a cable?
Also, it's good to see that people (who aren't retarded) think that the Zune is a good purchase. I'll probably buy one next week or so, since it seems like a while before a new model will come out

iPods have same storage as Zune, and in some cases, more....
And they're the same price as Zunes, too.....
But their computers are very expensive, yes. I do like me some OSX though.

The above reminds me, Customer Service isn't THAT bad; I dropped my first one (and the battery probably shat itself, don't ask) and I had to call them up. Despite what I read in a few places, I didn't have any problems with the process...

I got the 30GB Zune last year. Other than the software, which is pretty much on par with iTunes in the "quality" department, I quite like it. It's taken a fair share of abuse and holds all of my music, the few videos I have and pictures I have. I just like the set up and durability it has.

I've had my Touch for months and even though it's Jail Broken I've never had issues with it.
