Since I'm about to buy some sort of portable mp3 player, and from the looks of it, Zunes look alot better than iPods and everything else that I come across. I just don't want to buy one and then find out that a new, superior version is coming out in a matter of weeks.

If Microsoft continues its refresh history with the Zune, it should be due for a refresh in November.  Personally, I do agree that the current generation of iPods are rather ugly, save the iPod touch.  Though I'd recommend getting a fifth generation iPod off of eBay, but that's just what I think.

Just my thoughts. I hate the new ipods. Their new look, and interface is horrible. If it turns out that i can't get a zune for some reason, I'm getting a 5th gen ipod.

Yes, if I recall, the Zune 4, 8 and 80 were only announced like a month before they came out.  Though since most Microsoft products are leaked well before they're announced, I'm surprised we haven't heard anything about it.

Your computer will automatically sync the music & podcasts you've subscribed to, and you can also just open the Zune app and choose what to sync manually.
