Not really.
it's really just estimation
not exactly equal but close
1 - .99999999... is equal to 0.000000000...
SAME THING
Does this argument really need to happen again? It's been rehashed about a billion times across the internet. 0.999... does indeed equal 1 and there are numerous proofs of it. There's nothing to discuss any more.

Hi Soup.
Do you know why I'm here? I can't remember.
Indeed, only with a .000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001 difference, it is indeed a seperate numeral. Indeed.

I'd agree it's about equal, but it's not exactly 1

Other than in your head, it is exactly the same in every practical (and impractical) application.

Debate? How is this a debate?

Estimation refers more to an education guess while approximation is the result of the estimation.
Pi ≈ 3.14
That is an approximation, not an estimate.

.9999999999... = 1
Fact.
Look, in order for you to get 1 from .999999... by adding something, you would need to add, well, .00000...... with a 1 at the end. And since the zero's repeat for infinity, there is no end, therefore there is no 1, therefore .999... + 0 = 1.

If .9 (repeat) is equal to 1, then what is .9 (repeat) plus .0 (repeat) 1? Plz don't say .0 (repeat) 1 is 0. >_>
In case you do say it's 0 answer this... what is .0 (repeat) 1 times infinity? If it were 0 then the answer would equal 0, no?
