If your like me being able to drive 195 miles per hour would definitely be a dream. Well in the sport that I am going to talk about going 193 to 225 miles per hour is legal and expected. I am talking about NASCAR. NASCAR is an exciting competitive sport that continues to grow. With that in mind I will focus of the definition of, the history, and the racing.

NASCAR stands for the National Association of Stock Car Auto Racing. It is composed of two sponsors one is the Bush series, the other is the Winston cup series. Winston cup it the most popular because it consists of all the greats, the fastest drivers with the best racing times. Both series draw in more then 19 million fans all coming to see the excitment.

. . .
competitiveness, and is continuing to grow. Today NASCAR sopncers more then 1700 races across the united states. From 1920 to 1933 it was illegal to produce, sell, and drink liquor.

By talking to you about the definition, the history, and the racing of NASCAR I hope that i have informed you about a sport that is full of excitement. stock car racing is more popular today the ever it can be traced back to the 1920's. There are seven people on the pit crew allowed over the wall at one time. France saw the potental of racing and decided to form an organization which we now know today as NASCAR. During the time that the caution flag is out many drivers make a pit stop. Soon bootleggers started racing on Sunday and by 1933 when the prohibition ended stock car racing was becoming very popular. By 1938 Bill France organized a race on the beach of Daytona. so many people called bootleggers would illegally run wiskey to market places often racing at high speeds to outrun the police.

Nascar racing today is done in cars like this on ash fualt tracks. Throughout the race which can last up to four hours there are eight different flags that can be flown. Including some like the green flag which tells the drivers to start, the yellow flag which means caution or slow down and maintain your current position, the red flag which tells the dricers to stop due to unsafe condition, the white flag which signafies the last lap and the checkered flag which signafies the end of the race. It started a long a prosperous life for NASCAR.
