No, it's worse (and that's quite an amazing feat).

You get a small army and fight "massive" battles. You just select a square on the grid, the character moves, and if something comes by, they attack. Sounds boring, right? It is.

I hate to say it, but I agree. FFTA is probably the only FF game I like.

Haven't played the PS1 game, and I don't plan on it.
