aint no way the switch 2 is gonna perform anything like the wii u did lol, its already got a ton of support from third parties and easy sells like the new fromsoft game, mario kart, and dk bananza

now, with all the issues like limited availability and increased software prices, oh yeah, i dont expect this to perform anywhere near as well as the switch did, and probably not as well as the wii either...but nintendo's share of the market rn is no joke and straight out of the gate i dont see how this could remotely flop the way the wii u did. underperform maybe.

console gaming is in a really weird place rn. im not happy with a lot of things about the switch 2 and have no current plans to get one anywhere near launch. but realistically speaking i think a lot of people are still gonna buy this thing

ok maybe not wii u tier, but I def don't see it surpassing far beyond nes numbers
there's def a ton of ppl against nintendo this time around, moreso regarding pricing in general, learning the tech behind it, and how bowser and even trinen tried to salvage the pricing situation (they didn't)
though I do believe that it's just fake outrage ngl and that ppl are gonna eat this shit up anyway lmao

but after learning that backward compatibility is limited and that physical games are basically just keys, ummm lmao
like even I can't support such a lame practice

the console price honestly doesn't seem too bad, but the cost of games is ridic, and I think it's lame they're not gonna pair this game with some tech demo tier game this time around too.

while I agree that doing this at all fucking sucks, we already know that this is only for some games. if i had to guess, it is likely going to be taken advantage of by third parties to cut costs, as nintendo's insistence on using these SD cards costs developers a lot of extra money. the cards are a lot more expensive to manufacture than blu ray discs, from what I understand

afaik the only ones confirmed to be getting this "fake" phys release on launch are street fighter 6 and the bravely default remaster. definitely sucks for the latter.

one thing to keep in mind though is that even that could still get a proper phys release in some regions. its been common for the past decade for some things, like more niche releases, to only release digitally in the west but get phys versions with english on them in japan, s korea, or just general asian region releases. play-asia has been a godsend for this

it all sucks for sure! and nintendo's reliance on these cards is most likely the main culprit lol

actually now that i think about it, youre right. did happen with some of those collection games (mmx specifically in my case). if limited like that, I wouldn't mind too much ig.
also, sort of thought the pseudo phy stuff was gonna be all games, but guess I didn't process it better lol

guess at this point my dislike is more with the pricing and how nintendo defends it for now, and ig just their direction in general with certain games like pkmn.

thankfully it's now confirmed to be about $450, the mayrio kart one being $500
but yes, running smoother would get me on board.

the thing is, I rarely play single player games nowadays. It'd just be more of a smash station for me, with a few extras lol

I'm not going to think about buying a switch 2 unless i beat all the games on my switch.

Thought Mario Kart World looks sick as hell, and the DK game too. I just can't justify spending so much money and time on Nintendo games anymore. Plus, the last few Nintendo games I've played have really stank. If I make it through all the dumb jrpgs I put on my backlog, and I'm not completely sick of gaming by then, I might get one.
