collecting retro video games and consoles. and 2018 has been a hell of a year on that front for me, having purchased:

an atari 2600, sega master system, nec pc engine duo-r (with region lock modding), and super famicom

11 games for the 2600 (aside from the 12 or so that came with it), 5 games for the pc engine (mostly hucards, but one cd-rom as well), 3 super famicom games, 3 somewhat expensive sega saturn shmups (ranging $60-75), plenty of ps4 games, and a couple snes games (one of which was chrono trigger for like $90)

it's a really fun hobby tho, i don't regret any of my purchases this year  hocuspocus;

i try to be smart about when i make these big purchases tho because ebay is sometimes pretty generous with mobile app coupons
