at this point, honestly, 4chan. moot jumped ship at the right time.

I just now realized something about 4chan and tumblr, too. They're kind of the same website. They're both totally anonymous message boards with the ability to attach content to your posts. The difference is that 4chan brings you to forums where as tumblr is focused around individual blogs. Both are huge breeding grounds for echo chambers just because of the way they work, but tumblr is way more potentially dangerous. You can totally filter out anyone or any community you don't want to see or hear from. The other side of that is that you're sharing a website with your opposite ideology pretty much guaranteed, so it's easier to interject into each other's spaces and create these big fights, then retreat to your echo chamber and talk about how dumb your opponents are.

Just the way tumblr enables Bad Thought is honestly kind of infuriating. At least 4chan idiots go looking for it. On tumblr it just kind of happens.

4chan and scumblr really are two sides of the same counterfeit coin, and society at large seriously does need to learn how to better identify and discard counterfeits

they both have turned into echo chambers for loud, catastrophically dumb extremists, and i genuinely believe that the bickering between 4chan and its associates and tumblr and its associates was at least in part what created the fervor that led to the 2016 election lol

i would say that dumblr is perhaps worse, though; 4chan is at least self-aware that its extremist right-wing views are fringe and destructive

tumblrites - even the belligerent ones, even the blatantly racist and neo-segregationist ones - are brainwashed enough that they legitimately believe they are forces of good in the world

and tumblr's normalization and even outright romanticization of legitimate mental illness is also p. tarded and p. terrifying

tumblr is not worse than 4chan what the fuck??? on tumblr you can easily avoid extremist blogs you don't like but 4chan (especially in recent years) has alt-right and nazis infesting every single board, turning it into a hive of racism, sexism, etc.

4chan regularly says shit like "gas the kikes" and "day of the rope soon". please find me the evil tumblr version of this please because i don't think it exists, and if it does then it hasn't overtaken the whole site culture. inb4 "lol why are you taking those anonymous posts so seriously they're just trolls??" nah, they're real people who go on image boards to vent their true feelings without taking responsibility for the shit they say, while also radicalizing other people like them. at least on tumblr there's some form of accountability for saying ridiculous shit.

besides, twitter has the nuttier leftists due to the awful format and people obsessed with getting retweets for their hot takes. i'd still take it over 4chan though.

don't let's

Tumblr preys on the minds of mentally ill or emotionally damaged children and it's going to do lasting damage to their minds and how they think and live.

don't let's

Also, look up pretty much any of the fandom blogs.

4chan preys on the minds of mentally ill or emotionally damaged white men and it's going to do lasting damage to their minds and how they think and live and also they will run people over at protests.

Honestly the internet and its users are what is to blame.

Oh and I think we can all blame those apps backed by venture capitalists that will lead to a new Middle Ages when they go bust lol
