one of my GF's best friends was just publicly accused yesterday via extremely long facebook post by his ex gf of being "an abuser", though she kind of didn't really accuse him of anything besides maybe being a bit emotionally immature (though she also basically compared herself to a rape victim despite not actually making any overt, serial claims of sexual violence), and the whole thing sounds like something she should have just told him in a we're-breaking-up conversation and chalked up to just being a not great relationship, instead of airing out on facebook for half the city to see to try and literally ruin his life

which she basically has now; he is a very well-known prominent photographer in the music scene here and everyone has basically ostracized him. my gf doesn't really know how to react or handle it, as people know they're friends and keep asking her for HER TAKE (which in itself is a pretty fucked up thing to do? like why is it her responsibility to make excuses for the actions of others??), but she's talking to him about it in person tonight. i dont really know how to feel about it either, because while i do think he's probably not emotionally the best person to be with in a relationship, i don't think he needs an entire city sticking his head on a pike for it. we all do dumb fucked up shit to each other. hell i did half the shit she accused him of in past relationships that i know realize was manipulative and would have apologized for had I been confronted about it person-to-person. he also has a history of depression (hence why i think he's probably not totally emotionally stable) and she's worried he might be considering suicide now too.

anyway the whole thing is fucked. i told him (through my gf) that he needs to search his heart of hearts and if he feels that what she said is provably false, he should lawyer up and sue her ass for defamation. not that it will make anyone see him better, but hey cash money ayyyyyyyyyyyyy
