  • try to finish other people's sentences if they happen to pause in the middle of a thought for more than three seconds smithicide;

it's an automatic habit that i somehow haven't unlearned yet, and i'm sure it's maddening awdood;

YPrrrr

At more than 3 seconds I'm sure that's fine. People usually thank me when I do that and I do the same. 3 seconds seems like forever in conversation myface;

Idk I probably correct people a lot because others spreading wrong info worries me for the future of humanity

Hiro

oh god tec i do the same thing, but it's only after a second or two  5thgrade;

not at all lol, i'm used to being constantly interrupted myself but i didn't notice you doing it

Kalahari Inkantation

i catch myself doing it a lot, try to make a mental note of it ('gee i just did it again that must be annoying i should stop'), forget that mental note seconds later, and then catch myself doing it again at some later point

but at least i can take solace in knowing that you didn't notice lol >.<

it's not that i interrupt, really (or at least i pray to god i don't interrupt), but as soon as i notice a multi-second delay in the middle of a conversation partner's speech, i instinctively try to guess at what they might be meaning to say

??????

if I find something amusing I scoff
it was around children that I've realized that I do this and never realized how it can easily be taken the wrong way :,(

also my vocal inotations become surly when I feel remotely shy
being tsundere is my annoying trait

I do the same damn thing Tec, I wonder if there's any relation between a habit like that and general social awkwardness.

Ive also always been a compulsive liar, generally for minor things though. Pretending to know things I don't, acting like I understand a topic that I don't, trying to cover up awkward mistakes or mishaps, etc. But I've also had much more complex lies I've woven mostly just for personal gain. Or for a feeling of acceptance or superiority. And ive never really stopped doing this. I don't know if I'll ever be honest. Somehow, I've rarely been caught.

i have never imagined you to be a liar, let alone the manipulative type

...Do you ever lie to us? befuddlement

of course, you could very well answer that question with a lie sillydood;

i'm a terrible liar and i feel compelled to be honest 100% of the time unless the truth really would actually hurt me, but i have learned to strategically use the truth in misleading ways when advantageous

i do have a habit of misdirecting, misleading and telling half-truths to avoid having to commit to an answer or reveal something about myself that doesn't need to be revealed

and i do do that on boyah

it probably makes it hard to take me seriously sometimes, but i suppose that's part of the intended effect lol

also, playing dumb doesn't always require outright lying (not when i do it at least), and it's sometimes a very useful strategy for gaining information lol

I honestly don't even know where to start here. I feel like I'm more annoyed by myself than others are.

that's not it in my case

i want the conversation to progress, but not necessarily to end

when a conversation with me is ending (whether i want it to or not), my responses become meaningless one-or-two syllable utterances like 'huh' 'oh wow' 'haha' etc.

but it's exceedingly rare that i deliberately end a conversation that way, usually i just run out of things to say a minute in because i'm a piss-poor conversationalist with no personality or life experience lol
