I got 63

my privileges:
Didn't have to develop certain traits to help you cope (because I told it I didn't develop those traits when I should have)
You had a better job market when you graduated (lmao)
Pretty good bill of health
Worked pretty hard (you know me)
Blessed by some good fortune
As a man, you were less likely to face discrimination
Benefited from public goods and services
Your race may have resulted in more opportunities
disadvantages:
Friends not always in best position to help
Your parents may have struggled to give you all you needed
Grew up in a place that it was hard for people to move up
Had to deal with some tough things as a kid
Not a lot of educational support (even though I told it I went to decent schools and got financial aid??)
i dont like this test bc a lot of it is perspective based, if you focus on the positives like "ive had some good teachers" or "ive learned something that changed my life from books or the internet" then youre more priveliged? it just means you were more resourceful.

should be more event-based rather than asking you how you feel about things
67
Hiro

I don't think it actually says privilege anywhere in the quiz and is meant to be more about finding what good or bad things you've had in life that could have a role in where you are today

Hiro

So I just took it answering with basically every advantage I could think of and nothing wrong in life, and got a 49 goonish
So I guess a lower score means more privilege, but that's still... I don't know what this scale is now
also it said I still had one struggle, that being "Needed to develop strong character traits to cope" ???

Hiro

Also just took it again realizing I answered one of them wrong, got 67 now

silvertone

im stuck at the super power question

Because it's not a privilege exam it's a mobility statement.

If you answer as always having a good life and that continues then it's not really "the american dream".

If you answer as having a background that isn't privileged but having a comfortable life now you're going to get a higher score.

i.e. single parent household poor black child from an abusive home having a college education and a stable job is probably gonna get a super high score

if your life sucked back then and sucks now low score

Proof.

I answered and got a 77.

I just redid the entire test with the only difference being that I answered I am black.  I got an 81.

I'm surprised it's so low considering I grew up an able-bodied """""gifted""""" white male in a comfortable middle-class suburb with great parents

Grew up in place great for raising kids
Had a pretty good childhood
Pretty good bill of health
Worked pretty hard
Access to a good education
As a man, you were less likely to face discrimination
Benefited from public goods and services
Your race may have resulted in more opportunities

lower score means you either started out with no privilege and never moved up in life

or you were always privileged and didn't become super successful

i mean the score is called "the american dream score"

YPrrrr

53 same as Popsi

Pros
Didn't have to develop certain traits to help you cope
You had a better job market when you graduated
Your parents were in a good situation to help you
Worked pretty hard
Access to a good education
Blessed by some good fortune
As a man, you were less likely to face discrimination

Had to deal with some tough things as a kid

Some may have held your race against you.

the first 3 are totally wrong. how can i not develop coping skills if i had adversity in pretty much every fashion as a kid. i guess this test just assumes that i took it and dwelled in my own problems lol

You were more likely to be discriminated against based on gender

I guess most of these are pretty accurate. Education is the main thing that's kinda misrepresented here.
I checked nothing on the page about ever having good friends sillydood;
