im just speaking from what ive seen over here. ive gone to a couple company events for smart cities, which is the buzzword for infrastructure with technology integration, so essentially real time adjustments. and the consensus essentially is that it's not possible, which doesn't make sense because of course it's possible to code something like that. i take that as, nobody has created an easy tool or api even to make it super easy for them to then take that, do something cute with it and make millions of dollars. hence, nobody wants to put in the work.

biotech is the same, tons of events to discuss hacking food and creating organic materials with 3d printers. everybody gets a few million in investments for some sort of hacking of the human genome. and then they disappear. all we have is crispr, there are a ton of theranoses in biotech, the industry is basically just theranos type schemes. im sure something in biotech must be possible to bring to market.

and then mars, nasa says they'll ramp up their program and help elon only if he gets a man on mars. until then, they'll just watch.

so yeah its just obnoxious watching every person in society talk about this white privilege meme while all this so called technological progress itself continues to be a meme. instead of making the mars meme real, we're making white privilege available for all white people to digest so that they can feel better about themselves? or i guess just hate themselves. idk. meanwhile upper class affirmative action minorities get to go to any school they choose, any scholarship they choose, any job they choose. and then the same ones can yell in the face of the trailer park living white family about how they need to check their privilege. i know im rambling but in my mind they're all interrelated. we live in a post truth world so my feelings matter more than facts.
