in terms of sales i dunno, but in terms of sheer popularity, very successful. it's been played at every evo since launch in 2011. it's also getting to be melee tier of a pain in the ass to find a copy of the game, which sucks cuz i only have vanilla, not ultimate; if 4 doesnt become a thing than i'd expect a copy of ultimate 3 to hit 70 dollars for a used version in the next 5 years probably tbh

i hear rumors its going to be 2 v 2 likes tasunoko v capcom, which honestly i kind of like the sound of??? i played more casually and i always liked the 2v2 of TvC vc the 3v3 of MvC for some reason

oh definitely, that did not help either lol. i'm sure that cut production shorter than intended on ultimate which would explain why it's rare-lite

anyway, on the capcom side who the fuck would they even add to this game, they've had like half an original character made since three lol, like are they gonna add DmC edge-Dante? SFV characters i guess?

i like 2v2 a lot more too. makes it much more accessible imo
TvC was tight on wii but i didnt get into it as much as i wish i would have
