As a Christian, what do you think about extra-terrestrial life?

Daddy

When I was a Christian I did.   I believed, and still believe, that life existed out there.

The Bible seems to argue against that.  It's one of the things that lead to me questioning the Bible and becoming an Atheist.

Show me where the Bible argues against that, please. (Not trying to be a dick, but I'm just curious and would like to know)

As for myself, I don't know where I stand on extraterrestrial life. I do believe Angels and Demons are real which I guess are "extraterrestrial".

The Bible said god created man, animals, and all that stuff. The problem isn't with the Bible itself, but many Christians don't consider "aliens" to be animals, when technically any living and thinking thing is an animal.

It doesn't implicitly state that extraterrestrial life does or does not exist but the account of the Bible of God creating the Earth and the Heavens and the life on Earth implies that life would only exist on Earth.   Such a belief was enforced throughout the history of the Church.

That is true, from what I've heard of the bible, Earth is the only planet referenced in the bible

You are misquoting.

Genesis 1:20-25 (New International Version)
20 And God said, "Let the water teem with living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the expanse of the sky." 21 So God created the great creatures of the sea and every living and moving thing with which the water teems, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. 22 God blessed them and said, "Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the water in the seas, and let the birds increase on the earth." 23 And there was evening, and there was morningĆ¢ā,¬ā€the fifth day.

24 And God said, "Let the land produce living creatures according to their kinds: livestock, creatures that move along the ground, and wild animals, each according to its kind." And it was so. 25 God made the wild animals according to their kinds, the livestock according to their kinds, and all the creatures that move along the ground according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good.

It is specifically referring to the creatures on earth. The Bible is focused on the history of the earth and salvation of man (on earth) because its directed audience is man (on earth). God doesn't reveal everything to us. He doesn't tell us what day the world will end. He doesn't tell us what day Jesus will come back. We don't need to know that. So why would it be any different for another form of life to be on other planets, and God choose not to tell us?

Corporal Atlas

It's definetly out there. Space is infinite, so I'm sure there's another planet out there suitable for life. It's even possible that life is on Mars, and scientists are looking into it.

I am the Atheist God.

Selkie

I 100% believe that aliens exist, and I am a church-going Lutheran.

I don't care if the bible says it's not true, I believe it, and dismiss that part. It doesn't mean I don't believe in God anymore.

Umm... I don't really care.
You should.

Yeah, this is a very real issue. This isn't some child's play topic like "what to do about stem cell research". Get your head in the game, man. antiflower;

K.

So anyways, I think it's real because space is infinite and we can't be the only planet with life.

Bushy

I've always believed it.  Being alone it a seemingly limitless universe makse me feel small and insignificant.

It's very possible.
In fact, I kinda hope evil Aliens attack, so the human race will learn to love and work with each other.

Well, that would be nice.  flower;
