why is DC gdp per capita so high?

Because it has tons of politicians coming into the city and spending lots of money on food, hotels, and entertainment.

International leaders + politicianas as well will visit DC and their crew (security, etc) all spend money.

And then since the population is less than a million it just shoots up the per capita gdp

dc has some powers that are usually held by a state government

i think nyc has better tourism
washington proper isn't really a modern cultural center other than the historical attractions
speaking of which, i wish trump hadn't leased the old post office because i think it might get more derelict than ever before when he inevitably ceases development
