Why restore it if nobody uses it

Hiro

oh so now you all care about minimalism huh
let's not have anything that we don't use

Snowy

it's not about minimalism, no one used it. jmv got rid of the board on his own without asking anyone. nothing that anyone actually used on a daily basis was removed.

Hiro

but why does a board need to be currently active in order to exist, i still feel that it was a notable aspect of boyah and now if anyone should want to make an anonymous post they can't do it anymore. the boyah confession booth was the 6th largest thread in boyah, and now it's just been shut down for a reason i don't think is very legitimate. you can't expect a ton of activity on all of boyah when there are so few users, most of which who are often busy with adult life, and can communicate with other boyagers through other means nowadays. the other boards being merged makes sense because they actually fit within the overreaching topic of another board from which they were spun off, but the anonymous board does not have such an equivalent.

strongbad

i'm all for an anon board if it was actually used lol

Samus Aran

i don't really care either way tbh

>not legitimate reasons

>"not expect a ton of activity"

There's a difference between "not expecting a ton of activity" and expecting a post to be made in a period of almost 7 months.

And if there is not a ton of activity with so few users, what's the point of having an excessive number of inactive boards, including ones that have six months of non-posts?

I literally addressed that iceblock of text.

1.)I, and several other members as stated in the thread, find the reason to be legitimate. The other boards I shut down were currently, and have been more active than the Anon board.

2.)Unused threads and boards being kept open because people are busy is is a silly reason. If there isn't enough activity in current boards then what is the real benefit from spreading the inactivity out between even more boards?

3.)The confession booth still exists, but you are going to dig through 7 months of posts to find it (gee, if it were more active maybe it'd be higher up).

4.)If there are other means of communication what is the point of keeping a board that isn't used?

you p.much just kept restating that people dont post a lot but people liked the board before so we should keep it.

anon board's equiv. is the shitty posts of the Lobby, without the gimmick of anonymity--a feature that along with themes--is a major reason why we never moved to 2.0

Snowy

if getting rid of the anon board means we can get boyah 2.0 I'm all for it never coming back

Well, the themes are still an issue but anon was a major concern, which is why I ended up trying to rewrite it myself.

It failed randomly about 10% of the time and I couldn't figure it out, so I gave up trying to fix it.

and it's not something i'm making up now:

http://boyah.net/forums/index.php/topic,62058.msg1351999.html#msg1351999 - Other mods or snorkel can confirm I addressed this almost 3 years ago

http://boyah.net/forums/index.php/topic,54274.0.html or 5 years ago how i indicated teh anonboard being kept in 2.0 was not simple

you know what? fuck the anonymous board. it's nothing but shitty spam, the most retarded posts on boyah, and fits of stupid accusations.

and to #4, how on earth would anonymous posting even be equivalent to other methods of communication?  doodhuh;

I think anonymity has it's uses and don't see it as a gimmick or shitpost equivalent.

if you can't get it to work with 2.0 then fine, that's a legitimate reason. but this has nothing to do with that and 2.0 isn't happening anyway. and if it ever did happen really we should try to move off smf entirely if possible
