So, I just got my vehicle registration renewal bill yesterday: A whopping $51 the state wants for what will be a sixteen year old vehicle when this registration expires next April and will want that fee again.  But that isn't enough, if I wanted to pay with my debit card I would get charged nearly $6 more on top of that  Yet my street is still shit.  WHAT ARE ALL OF THESE TAXES PAYING FOR?
