x/y got me back into pokemon after not even finishing gold/silver, so take that for what you will.

i played a bit of Y but got bored pretty quick. the only gen i've never played was ruby/saphire, and black/white are my faves since gold/silver.

im interested to see what the hubub is for these new ones, but i hope it's not more of the same cuz im kinda bored of it at this point

I got through both x and alpha sapphire relatively quickly.

Really enjoyed both. Although, I do still have that post game to finish.....

i think most pokemon games are short, but yeah i definitely just played it pretty much constantly
