Q: Will all PS4 games be compatible with PS4 Pro?

Yes, all existing PS4 games are fully compatible with PS4 Pro. Developers are able to add PS4 Pro enhancements to previously released PS4 games via a downloadable update if they choose to.

All PS4 games are PS4 Pro games, and vice-versa.

Q: Will PS4 Pro be compatible with my existing PS4 downloaded games, saved data, and PlayStation Network Friend lists?

Yes. PS4 Pro exists in the same digital ecosystem as the standard PS4 in all regards; two PS4 console systems, one PlayStation Network, one PS4 community. This means you can start playing a game on your PS4 Pro, upload the saved data to online storage using PS Plus (sold separately), and pick up your progress on a standard PS4 in another room. It also means that all content and saved data that you already own on PS4 are fully compatible with PS4 Pro on day one.

QuoteQ: Outside of higher gaming performance, 4K TV features, and support for 4K video streaming, are there any other benefits to PS4 Pro?

Yes. PS4 Pro will come standard with [...] a third USB 3.1 Gen.1 port on the rear of the unit.

wow, it only took us until 2016 to get 3/4 of the way to a 2006-era ps3 vuvudood;

C.Mongler

from a jap interview that may just be talking about publisher costs and not end-user costs AND may just be referring to older ps4 titles not newly released ones

but 4k/pro updates might not be free lol

why do you need three usb ports

yeah lol

back in the days i would have needed 3 with my 2-ports PS3:
one for the controller
one for the rock band adapters
one for a usb stick

but now with spotify and the lack of video media transfer there's not much need for a usb stick
and harmonix is like a small activision now so fuck them tbh

Hiro

this generation of consoles has been terrible, probably going to skip the whole thing tbh
i'll probably get a ps4 slim when it's <$200 just to have something to play the last guardian on

C.Mongler

i keep forgetting the last guardian is coming out soon lol i hope it's actually a game

Quote from: http://www.polygon.com/2016/9/9/12861310/ps4-pro-4k-hdr-patch-feeA representative for Sony told Polygon that the company "will not charge consumers for patches." We've asked Sony to clarify whether that applies only to games published by Sony Interactive Entertainment, and will update when we hear back.

Jack Sipich, founder of developer Absinthe Games, said in a NeoGAF post that developers "are not allowed to charge you for patches or [PS4 Pro] feature updates."

don't let's

I patiently wait for the day when all patches are paid DLC

I mean, some of them basically are already, but still
