me and dalas got a place w/ out being employeed and it is a p cook place.

how tho

that's virtually unheard of. i mean it's ultimately up to the landlord but still

they usually check your credit first and previous job/landlord references second. current employment not necessarily needed

Hmm. I'm not sure our credit alone would really cut it. Between the two of us, only I have consistently been paying bills and loans for a long time, so only I have much credit accumulation to begin with, though I don't even know how good my credit actually is tbh. Have to look into it.

Also, we don't have renting history lol

I guess what we should do is pretty much apply for apts and apply for jobs simultaneously, so if we get turned down because of lack of employment we could still possibly come back once we do have proof of income, but on the other hand, if we do get a place quickly without employment, then all the better.

some renters do require proof of income, but they want to see Historical income more than current/future income. previous year's tax return or your bank statements work. if they require it, they probably want to verify 3x more income than the rent costs.

a lot of them only check credit though, to make sure you're not a miscreant. and usually they only care if 1 of the applicants has sufficient credit. so you should be fine  jackodood;

john just moved to minnesota in the town where i already lived to start with, and got a job here and we started savin up and stuff except expenses on my part kind of ruined a lot of that plan tbh (two car incidents)

he is currently just living in my room at home (with mom/sisters)

we are now actually gonna move to minneapolis area to get our own place
