Martyr Logarius? Not sure how you fought him, but most people consider him a really easy boss. You can avoid his magic skulls with the columns and you can parry him with your gun on his melee attacks.

There's no other real trick to him that I recall

Granted, he can do a lot of damage to you easily, its just he's also pretty easy to avoid or simply parry

Anyway I'm now in NG+. Gascoigne went down so fast lol. Basically just going through some of the main game so I can level up and finish the chalice dungeons.

When I played Dark Souls II, I mostly only had trouble against supposedly easy bosses

i can't seem to find any reliable opportunities to attack safely

i sure hope he's easy to parry because that'll be my next strategy

hmmm.... tbh I only fought him once, my 1st playthru, so I have no tips for you to fight him
