no. The nx will be controlled exclusively with amiibo

squirrelfriend

probably not since nfc chips are not really that expensive

holy shit guys, look what i just found, i will NEVER buy a nintendo console again!!

lol

the quality vs quantity argument would maybe be applicable here if the wii u compensated for its anemic quantity with stellar quality

but it really doesn't

almost every single nintendo franchise is far better represented on nintendo's previous consoles, the only possible exceptions being mario kart and maybe sm4sh

the first party wii u experience is defined by shovelware like amiibo festival/mp10/sfzero/mario&sonic at the 20xx special olympics/mario tennis/game&wario/color splash/etc., cheap rehashes like the nes/snes remixes and the latest ironically named """new""" super mario bros, and lazy ports like wind waker/tp """hd"""

the wii u is severely lacking in both quantity and quality imhotbh, more so than any of its predecessors or any of its competition

silvertone

i would say all the wii u games are great, butt they should've been wii games if that makes sense. the whole console feels like nintendo just did a do-over of the wii. That being said i dont regret buying a wii u, or selling it lol.

i'll take it from the guy who has never played a wii u to tell me HOW BAD the wii u is, sure, yup

>tfw i look at my ps4 shelf and Bloodborne is the only good, exclusive, non-HD remake/ster game there

Quote from: kimishimaI think our first job right now is to make sure that the customers, those 10 million customers who have a Wii U at home have software to play. And we need to make sure that they are satisfied with their purchase and continue to enjoy playing on this platform. So we can’t just abandon them and say ‘Hey, it’s time to move on to the next thing.’

OOO

reminder that nikkei hit the nail on the head yet again and nintendo's flimsy denials of nikkei rumours facts are utterly worthless

welp

C.Mongler

hopefully the price drops like a fucking brick soon so i can pick up another for like 75-100 soley because my gamepad has a dipshit ass crack in it and they don't sell them separately beyond refurbs (though i thought they promised they would in their pre-launch kerfuffle)

and then i can have another wii u to prop up a table or something i dunno

more ingenious nintendo hardware design

the wii u is almost entirely functional without the gamepad except for the fact that the os is artificially married to it

there is absolutely no reason you shouldn't be able to get around a broken gamepad by just using a pro controller since 99% of games don't even use the piece of junk

but for some reason the wii u's settings menu just requires two screens!!!!!!

i guess they had to make the thing mandatory somehow, otherwise we all would have tossed it aside by day 2

very consumer-friendly, nintendo, either buy a whole new system or pony up $150 (2x the value of the wii u) to regain access to my settings menu

great for fans of legacy gaming too, once wii u gamepads start breaking and no one's around to repair them, it'll render otherwise perfectly functional consoles completely unusable for no legitimate reason

C.Mongler

yeah it's pretty fucking stupid

i only want another one because i usually play my wii u on the bb screen in bed or while i'm taking a shit. i think i've played more wii u games on the pad than on tv honestly/sadly
