THERE'S A WAY TO FIX IT, BUT I'M TOO LAZY TO GET 2 AGAIN.

If you're willing to lose a few features like fullscreen and the pagedock, get 1.2.2. It's much faster and will display GIF's correctly.

I was thinking that maybe if I installed the updates, it will fix my problem, but it won't let me install updates either.

Shiira 2 is loaded with bugs. The developers are slow with their work and 2 was just let out of the beta about two months ago. 1.2.2 has no problems at all. THE DOWNLOAD IS ONLY ABOUT 5 MEGS, SO JUST GET IT.
