well tbh you have a point in my case personally because i never really re-wear jeans before washing them so i'd notice the underwear is still in the jeans anyway either before or after they're in the wash

but if i didn't do that, the reason i'd be sure to take them off separate is precisely to avoid what happened to hiro: forgetting they're in the jeans still and putting them on
