yeah that's just one disability though
most parents of kids with autism don't know

but idk words like retarded really rub me the wrong way because of kids who have a disability and know that they have a disability. it would suck to hear people talk about you like that when you are already aware of your cognitive deficits

same goes for other non-pc words but i just don't have personal experience with those i guess. i also think that with a lot of them there is a fair amount of over sensitivity involved (you could probably argue this for my case as well)
