Something that has been on my mind lately, and it is really bothering me for some reason, is our inevitable departures from the forum.

I started in 2007 when it was Powerspike. I've spent a lot of time between here and there. And here I am, talking with corporate about my promotion and moving into a director position in my hospitality company.
I know most of you have plans through your career, or you're going to school to pursue a career.

We're all grown up.
We're all moving on.

The fact is, if I ever end up higher in corporate offices, I'll have to delete most traces of myself online.
This includes Boyah. Maybe even Facebook.

Am I the only one thinking about this?  :(

I've always thought there was a cruel irony to it that the forum I frequented so often and came to love would be the ultimate undoing of my inevitable political career and presidential campaign

face it, if you're on boyah, you're not going high up enough for this to be a problem
What the fuck was it for anyway?

Well, I've always thought that...if I get out of the habit of going to Boyah, something must be going right...hahaha.

But yeah, since I want to be a Social Worker when I'm older... (Maybe, I am having a lot of thoughts about switching, since Social Work BA & MA aren't really applicable outside of itself, and one can get a MA in Social Work as long as the BA had something to do with Social Relations, so I might be going with Communications.  Or I can go for Fine Arts - Illustration if I really wanna play Russian roulette.)  I thought about deleting all of my stuff in the future if that's ever the case...well, if Boyah's posts ever become available by Google searching.  Boyah's not the only place I go to, though.

Then I realize I could make some e-mail that really wouldn't seem like it'd be me, and make usernames I never would have thought about just to stay online.  But then again, there's always IP's being something.  I don't know.

Although I think the decision of leaving Boyah may be inevitable- I gotta say, it will be tough, at least for me.  I don't have many people I talk to here, but, for some reason, I keep on coming back.  I think it's because, for most things in my life, almost everything has changed.  But Boyah hasn't really changed- well the people might have but, but I still see the same few users that come online, same silly emotes, talks about new media, some to little government talk, circlejerking- and new days change the course of topics.  Boyah to me is like, somewhat of a break from all the new things going around me.  But yeah, it's inevitable that some people will leave one day, especially that we're all older now.

I feel like Boyah is a really great sitcom- it had its drama in the past, some good times- and I always feel like I'm the audience a bit.  Whenever I think about Boyah's end, it reminds me of how some sitcoms end- like The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.  Everybody's leaving, giving their last goodbyes.  Will stays behind a bit, spending one last moment, and hesitating before leaving.  I think, there will be at least one Boyager in the future, that'll just mesmerize about the past, being the only user online- reading posts from five- ten, Hell, maybe twenty years from now.  Then, finally leaves Boyah, and that user would be the final user to ever be online ever again.

If that ever happens- there should be some goodbye event where people send each other goodbye presents beforehand- I don't know.

Ruuuuude.

Why would a promotion necessitate deleting your boyah account

This forum is fucking locked and nobody's going to track you down. Also, you won't be important enough to have people somehow follow you to a private forum that requires registration to view anything

You're working for a hotel, nigga. It's no big deal.

honestly if you want you could easily make a python script that'd go through every one of your posts, blank them out, then delete them

it'd take a while to execute because this server is so goddamn slow but it wouldn't be hard
