i feel like a lot of boyagers need to 'stay in character' instead of just being honest about things (i.e. assume the role of being an asshole or of being incredibly pretentious in certain areas just because they are experienced in them) and i don't like that

this is also a problem i've run into in real life

i made a shitty first impression among my closest friends 4 years ago and even though i completely turned myself around with a few months they're still "surprised" when i don't live up to their original image of me. if i'm not being an asshole, they're like "whoa lol are you really being serious because i never know"
