I just noticed that, for the first time, all consoles for the generation can have other things stacked on top of them, because they all have flat surfaces, load discs from a front slot, and restrict placement of all buttons and connectors to the front and back.

7th: PS3 (all models) has a silly curved shape that makes it impossible to keep anything on top of it.
6th: PS2 slim and Gamecube have upward-opening disc trays
Earlier: top-loading cartridge-based consoles that all have weird shapes

So Nintendo is joining Sony in distancing themselves from Xbox One's problems and insulting Microsoft

But it's not like nintendo is really in a particularly great situation with respect to DRM and game transfer because of the online purchases being locked to a device rather than an account and region lock on all games
